PTEM 2027 calendar
PTEM 2027 applications: December 1–15, 2026. Opens in 53 days.
Steps of the process
- Initial period for submitting notice-of-compliance applications, December 1 to 15.
- Processing and analysis of the applications received; selection interviews by the DTMF for sub-territories that received more applications than positions.
- Written response from the DTMF for all applications; five days to respond to an offer.
- Withdrawals: the freed position is offered to the next person on the sub-territory's waiting list, who has five days to respond.
- After the initial period: “first come, first served” until the end of the cycle.
During the initial period
- Notice-of-compliance applications are submitted between December 1 and 15; they are all deemed received on December 15.
- These applications always have priority over those received after December 15.
- You may choose two regions and two sub-territories per region, without having to rank one region over the other.
- If several forms are submitted, only the most recent one is considered.
After the initial period
- If positions remain available, the notice of compliance is granted on a “first come, first served” basis.
- An application may target only one sub-territory at a time; to target several, one form per sub-territory is required.
- A notice of compliance may be refused only because the PTEM target has been reached.
- Acceptance of the notice of compliance is confirmed within ten days of the DTMF's email.
Basic rules
- A notice-of-compliance application may be submitted at any time of the year.
- One notice-of-compliance application form per region, whether you are a new billing physician (NF) or an interregional mobility physician (MIR); the DTMF considers your status at the time of submission.
- When the number of positions in a sub-territory is equal to or greater than the number of applications, no selection is made and the DTMF must issue the notice of compliance; otherwise, applications are assessed against the sub-territory's priority needs.
- Throughout the year, the number of notices of compliance issued by a DTMF must respect the annual target authorized by the minister.
- The DTMF informs by email everyone who applied in its region of its decision.
- No notice of compliance may provide for a start of practice before the beginning of the PTEM, nor before the application was submitted.
- The physician must begin practising within 12 months of Santé Québec receiving the application.
- A person who receives a notice of compliance may choose, if they wish, the AMP in which they will practise at the start of their practice.
